A Qatari Ambassador Initiative, Provides Assistance to Hundreds of Families in Red Sea State

The Qatari Embassy in Sudan distributed food baskets dubbed “Happiness for the Fasting People” in several areas of Red Sea State to support the neediest families. The initiative, which included the distribution of 900 baskets, was led by Qatari Ambassador to Sudan Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sada, accompanied by members of the diplomatic mission.

The distribution tour included the Red Sea villages of Ait, Fayja, and Arkay, where the aid was delivered to families amidst a warm welcome from the residents. The efforts also extended to the city of Haya, where 290 food baskets were distributed in “Village 103,” in addition to 350 baskets for needy families in other areas.

The Ambassador was accompanied on this tour by a representative from the Humanitarian Affairs Office of the Sovereign Council, along with volunteers from the Sudanese Red Crescent and the Qatar Red Crescent Society in Sudan, all of whom contributed to organizing the distribution process and facilitating the smooth and timely delivery of aid to those in need.

According to the Sudan News Agency, the residents of the beneficiary areas expressed appreciation for the initiative, commending the State of Qatar’s support for the Sudanese people during these challenging times.

During his tour, the Ambassador also got a firsthand information about those in need of assistance, saying his government would do its best to assist and to translate into development those requests expressed by the communities and that humanitarian projects would be implemented through Qatari institutions operating in Sudan, thus contributing to alleviating suffering and promoting stability.

He explained that this initiative comes as a gift for breaking the fast during Ramadan and also carries the promise of the approaching Eid, serving as a message of joy. He expressed hope for the beneficiary families. He also thanked all the entities that contributed to the success of this campaign, praising their efforts in facilitating access to beneficiaries during this critical time.
