1,000 Housing Units Allocated for Low-Income Families in Khartoum

The Director General of the Ministry of Social Development in Khartoum State and Acting Minister, Siddiq Hassan Firini, has announced the allocation of 1,000 housing units for low- and middle-income families as a first phase, through the state’s Social Development Foundation.
This announcement came during a joint meeting held this afternoon, brininging together the Social Development Foundation, the GIAD Engineering Group, and the Housing and Reconstruction Fund.
The meeting discussed the proposed “My Home” project, which the Social Development Foundation is implementing by constructing residential complexes (apartments) with technical specifications suitable for low-income groups and civil servants.
During the meeting, Firini reiterated the ministry’s commitment to support vulnerable and needy groups of society through productive and service-oriented projects, in partnership with the GIAD Industrial Group.
For her part, the Director General of the Social Development Foundation, Bara’a Mustafa,has explained that the “My Home” project is one of the foundation’s initiatives aimed at creating a suitable environment for citizens to return to Khartoum State, through the implementation of an affordable housing project using a microfinance system guaranteed by monthly salaries. This in turn contributes to social stability, revitalizes the construction sector and national industry, and develops the concept of affordable and sustainable housing.
